Purple mountain majesties. These lyrics from “America the Beautiful” were inspired by a visit to Pikes Peak in 1893. And they’re great lyrics. But they just barely do justice to the jaw-dropping beauty of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. And there is much more to experience than the spectacular Rockies. Camping and glamping in Colorado is paradise.
Colorado has eleven national forests and four national parks. From Rocky Mountain National Park outside of Denver to San Juan National Forest in the southwest corner of the state, there is some of the best camping, hiking, river rafting, fishing and mountain biking in the country.
