Welcome to Tentrr Camping in Arkansas

Arkansas is The Natural State, and there’s little wonder why. Whether you’re looking to be on the tip of a mountain or the shore of a lake, the dense heart of a forest or the wilds of a river, there’s something in Arkansas camping for you. Thirty two of Arkansas’s state parks offer campgrounds, while others are more primitive and encourage backpacking expeditions and still others have full amenities for traveling with a camper or RV.

Arkansas is a land rich in history, both recent and ancient. Here in these historic state parks you can camp in lands where American Indian mound builders constructed their magnificent architecture, or visit a Civil War Battlefield, or see where Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto traveled through the state long before the United States was a nation. Visit Toltec Mounds Archaeological Site to see the magnificent mounds built--not by the Toltec Indians (who come from Central America) but from a culture named Plum Bayou, after a local stream. A visitors center guides guests through the prehistory, while outside there is space for picnics, family reunions, school outings and parties. Prairie Grove Battlefield is one of America’s most intact Civil War battlegrounds. It commemorates a battle from December 7, 1862 when Confederate and Union forces fought resulting in 2,700 casualties. Arkansas’s largest Civil War reenactment takes place here every other year.

If it’s fishing you’re interested in, there is camping to be had at 29 lakes and 12 rivers. Although Arkansas is best known for its fabulous largemouth and smallmouth bass, there’s also plenty of crappie, catfish, and bream in the lakes, and of course the fly fishing scene on rivers is excellent. With full service marinas, boat rentals and fishing supplies, you can camp without a trailer and still enjoy the boating experience during the day. Arkansas is truly a world-class sportsman’s fishing paradise. And, of course, if you love the water but don’t want to fish, you may be surprised to learn that Arkansas has some major snorkeling attractions. Bull Shoals Lake, the state’s largest man-made lake, has some of the best snorkeling in the state where you can see fish, rocks, plants, and mussel shells.

Arkansas is a state of mountains, and there is no taller mountain to be found than that in Mount Magazine. Camping here gives you access to hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, backpacking and ATVs. An adventurer’s paradise, there are skilled rock climbing areas as well as hang gliding launches. For beautiful views, Pinnacle Mountain has a little bit of everything, whether you’re hiking the mountains, fishing the rivers, taking one of the interpretive programs offered by the park rangers, or biking the seven miles of trail. Camping at Pinnacle Mountain is an experience you won’t forget.

Whether you’re motorcycling, scuba diving, digging for diamonds, or running the river in a kayak, Arkansas’s outdoors are about adventure. Camp in Arkansas for an experience you’ll never forget.
